Most of us forget that self care is vital to a balanced and meaningful life. We rush around trying to take care of everyone else, ignoring our own needs. At last we suffer burnout. We are overwhelmed with tension, depression, or anxiety. We have forgotten how to live in a relaxed body. We’re always waiting for the next shoe to drop.
Perhaps events from our past disturb us greatly, or we dread our future. So we use addictions and other coping mechanisms to try to manage our lives. Here’s the bottom line: if we’re honest, most of us are far from relaxed, and we do a lousy job at nurturing and caring for ourselves. Trust me, I’ve got firsthand experience with this!
I have my own story of anxiety, people pleasing, overworking and ignoring my own needs at the expense of my physical, mental and emotional health. I’m still a work in progress, but I’ve found many useful tools to bring abundance, stability and peace into my life.

What is a Life Coach?
A Life Coach is a person specifically trained to help other people work through personal challenges. Think of a life coach as a guide, or a mentor. Life coaches work in all sorts of specialty areas: diet and exercise, relationship advancement, dating and love, career counseling, and much more!
Life coaches are not psychologists, mental health professionals, therapists or counselors. Coaches may make referrals to other specialty professionals if client needs are out of the life coach’s scope of practice.
Relaxed Caregiver offers coaching specifically related to your mental and emotional health. My role is to walk with you, helping you create and meet measurable goals toward a richer and more fulfilling life. What’s the Difference Between a Mental Health Life Coach and a Mental Health Therapist / Psychologist / Counselor?
While both life coaches and mental health professionals receive education and training to perform their jobs, mental health professionals (social workers, counselors, therapists and doctors) have much more regulated practice requirements for licensure than do life coaches. Additionally, therapy tends to look back at one’s life to emotionally process times of difficulty. Life coaching may be more forward-looking.
While it’s important to acknowledge and process our past, a life coach helps you to create goals toward your future. As a mental health life coach, I do not practice as a psychiatrist, psychologist or therapist. I will certainly recommend that you seek referrals to these disciplines should serious issues arise regarding your mental and emotional health that may require the intervention of a specially-licensed professional.
My biggest goal is to empower you to see your own ability to create meaningful and lasting change in your life. I help you formulate goals toward that change and become your cheerleader as you forge your path forward.
What Can I Expect if I Sign up for Life Coaching?
I hope you’ll request a free Discovery Call with me! I want hear your unique story, and what brings you to seek help during this season of your life. At the end of the free 50 minute call, if it seems to be a good fit for both of us, I will invite you to become my client. Then, using the free webinar and web links content offered on this site, we will be begin to target the areas of your life where you most desire to experience peace and freedom. You may find that certain webinars or recommended materials stir up things within you that you would like to process. This will be a great place for us to start.
Individual sessions with me are $97 for a 50-minute Zoom or phone session. You will be given homework before the next session. Together we’ll decide a visit frequency that will best suit your needs moving forward.
I am currently working on much more extensive content in the “Members” area of my website (under construction). Eventually, I will be offering a Premium 6 Month Coaching Package/Membership. This will give clients access to a multitude of webinars, online tools, and learning modules that I am especially formulating to help clients dig deep into their journey to wholeness. The online modules are dynamic, including recommended video training to enhance your learning, and will require homework. I’m always working to add more content to the self-training modules, so clients will get the best guidance possible! Stay tuned for future updates.

Currently I offer 50-minute individualized Zoom / video chat or phone sessions at $97 each session. If you sign up for a bundle of 10 sessions with me, the cost is $80 per session. Contact me for other options to fit your budget, e.g. concierge coaching.

What is Your Spiritual Frame of Reference?
I am a Christian. I also have friends and acquaintances from many different belief systems: Muslim, Atheist, New Age, LDS, etc. I feel comfortable providing life coaching to those whose spiritual journey may differ from mine. I do my utmost to respect the spiritual beliefs and practices of my clients as we work together.
